NEW YORK FOREST FISH AND GAME COMMISSIONER ANNUAL REPORTS 1907-08 & 09 LARGE HC. In 1895 New York State set out to better illustrate the importance of the forest-fish and game resources of the State and the work of the Commissioners. These reports, which featured a wealth of illustration including a series of specially commissioned color plates plus many special articles were immensely popular then and are still so now. I am very pleased to be able to offer what I understand is the last issue of these amplified reports titled: Annual Reports of the Forest-Fish and Game Commissioner of the State of New York for 1907-1908-1909 which were published under the signature of James S. Whipple for presentation to the NYS Legislature (as was required by law). This very large hard cover book (8 ½ x 11 ½ x 1 ¾ inches 407 pages) was bound in dark green buckram boards with bold gilt titles on cover and spine. The endpapers are nicely decorated with an elaborate leafy pattern and this book is very well illustrated with 106 plates many of which were in full color. Condition: This book is in very good condition although it does have an unfortunate stain from what appears to have been an oily spill to the top of the pages. This has left a recurring but intermittent stain into the seam of many of the pages varying in degree. This stain does not affect the legibility of the text and on many pages it is not even evident. The hard covers are a bit dust-dulled and slightly bumped at the corners and spine tips. Inside the book is not marked except for two small compliments slips from the then Clerk of the Assembly Luke Henry on the first blank pages of the book. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
