A handsome and tight copy. ; The first edition of the North Dakota guide is one of the rarest as the printrun is believed to have been only 3,000 copies. Ethel Schlesinger was the director of the Writers' Project in North Dakota and was only 20 years old when she started the project. However - she turned out to be one of the most well organized as this book was published well before most other states have been printed. Grass green cloth boards with gilt lettering. Folding map tipped into rear endpaper. Unlike most State Guides, the illustrations were not printed as photogravures.
