Primera edici�. * Primera edici� de l'obra, que recopila els conceptes est�tics de Torres-Garcia (1875-1949) i amb el qual s'inicia a la teoria art�stica. El seguirien, en aquest sentit, Di�legs (1915) i L'art en relaci� amb l'home etern i l'home que passa (1919). La publicaci� de les Notes va provocar el trencament de l'autor amb el qui havia estat fins aleshores el seu valedor te�ric, Eugeni d'Ors. �s tamb� el moment en qu� comen�a a desenvolupar els plafons de la sala Sant Jordi del Palau de la Generalitat, una feina interrompuda per la pol�mica i en qu� exposa a la Galeria Dalmau de Barcelona. Torres-Garcia s'havia traslladat a Barcelona als setze anys i havia seguit els estudis de pintura a la Llotja i a l'Acad�mia de Belles Arts. Modernisme, neoclassicisme, cubisme i futurisme, totes les tend�ncies van tenir cabuda al seu pinzell inquiet. Palau 336958. Art, teoria de l'art, estetica.
