The Naked Lunch (First UK Edition. John Calder in Association with Olympia Press, 1964)

First UK Edition. The copyright page states: "First published in Great Britain 1964 by John Calder (Publishers) Limited." First published in Great Britain in 1964 by John Calder in association with Olympia Press. Originally published by Olympia Press, Paris, in 1959. A landmark work of twentieth-century experimental fiction and one of the defining texts of the Beat Generation. Original cream cloth lettered in silver to spine. Lacking the dust jacket. Boards show general age-related soiling, handling wear, and staining, including a ring mark to the rear board. Page edges toned. Small pencilled ownership name to the front free endpaper. Binding remains sound and secure, with a slight opening between gatherings at pages 10-11, but no loose pages or splitting. Internally clean and complete. A solid and increasingly scarce copy of the first UK edition of Burroughs' most influential novel.
