MAGNIFICENT full tree calf with contrasting morocco labels and natural history devices in gilt on the spines. Some minor cracking to hinges but holding very firmly. A very pretty binding. Volumes two & three have a different title page to the rest of the set, this would appear to be a quirk of the publisher H. D. Symond, who also lists a different number of volumes, when clearly it is intended to be a six volume set. The final volume stating : "Vol. V1. Or, Supplementary Volume.".
