Preface by B.S. dated February 1940, ' Somewhere at Sea '. Author was Naval correspondent for the BBC and most of text are reproduced scripts from original broadcasts from the very early part of WW II. 274 pp. plus Index. Book has gilt text on spine only with title box edged in gilt rope decoration. ffep has book stamp of fo, a gift dedication to him from Hazel and the signature of the original owner dated 1941. Book has scuffed extremities but is tight and square. fo's notwithstanding the text block is as new. Rare (in this condition) DJ is not clipped ( 8s. 6d/net). DJ has yellowed scotch tape reinforcements at spine ends and light edge/shelf wear. A fascinating, non-technical view of the early war-at-sea effort. Bookseller's Inventory #181006.
