An offprint from the Proceedings of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Vol. XLI 1892. Pages numbered 17-32, not including title page. An address by Eastman delineating the problems in the field of astronomy, caused by "old" and "new" astronomy and the advent of new techniques and technologies. In FAIR condition. Heavy browning to the front cover with some faded spotting, some soiling and other minor wear. Extremities with some minor tears and scuffs. Front cover detached along the upper half of its hinge. General fading to the pages with a few very minor tears in the fore edge margins of the pages.
