The Book of Nehemiah describes the rebuilding of Jerusalem during the Second Temple period, and the role that Nehemiah played in that. This sermon focusses on Nehemiah xiii. 14. In the sermon, he focussed on how the Irish could benefit from the teachings of Nehemiah in their times of troubles, calamities, and distress, and advises on how they can find wisdom and vigilance in Nehemiah. The sermon was delivered at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in August 1669, before Thomas Earl of Ossory. This work is a quarto, with the signatures running from A-E4. Collated from the ESTC, complete. John Parry was the Bishop of Ossory for the Church of England, and was the Dean of Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, where he delivered this sermon.
