First illustrated edition; Stephen Foster is the composer of Swanee River, Oh! Susanna and over 190 songs; 13 full b&w engravings by Charles Copeland, ornaments by Frank Myrick; melody with written music on last page; an inscription in pencil on front endpaper: "L.C. Pinkel from Grandpa"; with lite blue cloth spine; there is rubbing, small nicks to edges and some spots to the colored pictorial boards; some tears to the bottom edges of interior pages; some of the pages are pulled at spine but still attached, but book is still tight; otherwise plates in GOOD COND.
