8vo. [17], 18-512 pp. Later sheep (ca. 1840) over the contemporary calf with the contemporary red morocco label still visible on the spine. With charts and in-text diagrams. Evans 21394. Pike's work was used as a collegiate textbook in Masschusetts and Connecticut. This book was the third petition for Federal copyright that was presented to the first Congress. Some rubbing to the sheep, lacks both endpapers, a couple contemporary annotations on the title page. One leaf with a chip to its corner.
