8vo 8" - 9" tall; 324 pages; 1838 Kiderlen & Stollmeyer, Philadelphia. 1st American edition, revised by William Kiderlen. Soundly bound in full speckled calf with black leather title label to spine. Bottom two inches of the leather along the front joint mildly split; corners lightly shelf bumped and rubbed. A pair of gatherings at the rear of the book starting slightly at the front edge. Prior ownership dated 1839 penned to front pastedown. Usual and expected scattered light spotting to page stock; some small number of leaves corner creased.
