Wall map in very good restored condition. Original rods, modern linen backing. Varnish removed. Full color by county. Decorative border contains some very attractive illustrations. There are also other cartouches and views scattered around the map. Some residual cracking and rubbing, very small areas of loss sympathetically repaired. Full color by state. First edition. The map shows all of the United States, the Caribeean and Central America, and extends south to show South America to Equador (sic). There is a large inset map at the lower left showing most of Missouri (excluding the northeastern area), eastern Kansas, and southeastern Nebraska. Nebraska has only 8 counties organized, mostly along the Missouri River. Among the cartouches is a large view of "Sutter's Saw-Mill", the starting point of the California Gold Rush. Very scarce and unusual.
