About this Item

138 pages, with woodcut engraved frontis by Dalziel , contemporary half calf with original soft card illustrated cover bound in. The calf is slightly rubbed at extremes, marbled endpapers front and rear all very good, top outer corner of frontis torn off and missing, not affecting the image. Small 12 mo. Not dated but c1870. *William Jeffrey Prowse was a cricketer (Middlesex XI) won 20 caps for England and sporting became a oracle and predictor of horse race winners in various sporting circles and newspapers who died in 1870. Scarce.

We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
