In 1967, Nils Aas won Oslo Kommunes. competition for a Haakon 7th monument. It was unveiled and placed in the square. outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is a masterpiece created by one of the country's greatest sculptors. In addition to this great monument, he has made many other monuments and. portraits of politicians, artist friends and many others. He was an eminent draughtsman. and was a cartoonist for Arbeiderbladet for a period. In the book, a number of his are shown. most famous sculptures and drawings. Matua.
