Cover does show shelf wear and faint age toning, but colours and words remain bright. Edges are worn with light bumping. Bottom edge of textblock was dyed black, but has faded with time. There is a small water stain that continues through the first few pages on the side edge. Text is age toned and otherwise clean. Binding has loosened, but remains firm throughout the text. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket Condition: Dust Jacket. First Edition. (London: Published for THE CRIME CLUB by Collins 1939). First UK Edition in First Issue dustwrapper. Publisher's orange cloth lettered in black to the spine. A VG copy (some foxing to the page block edges and to both sets of end-papers); boards really bright and clean. The book is dated to the copyright page thus denoting a first edition. The dustwrapper is price-clipped to the front flap with a small chip to the bottom of the spine right-hand corner of the spine/left-hand corner of the front panel. The head of the spine is creased with several, old tape repairs to the verso. Minor creasing to top right-hand corner of the front panel. The red spine lettering faded to pale orange. The back panel of the dustwrapper is a bit soiled. A golf mystery featuring Roger Bennion (golfer and amateur sleuth). Superb cover artwork. Rare. Photographs/scans available upon request.
