First edition. Octavo. 221pp. Red cloth stamped in black. Bumping and light toning at the crown, a bit of rubbing on cover, near fine in a good only dust jacket with a large chip at the lower corner of the front panel (not affecting any text), and tiny nicks and tears. A collection of essays including: "Humanism," "The Literature of the Past in the Present," "Marx on the Relative Aesthetic Validity of Literature," "Individualism and the Class Struggle," "Growth and Decay in Literature" and more.
