Board. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Giovannetti (illustrator). 1st Edition. A very good copy of the first US hardback edition of this collection of drawings/cartoons of Max, a small, guinea pig like creature with very human tendencies. The introduction says that Max need no introduction followed by a broad selection of high powered signatures which must presumably be printed. Dust Jacket: red paper with cartoons to front and rear, red and black lettering to front, and black lettering on a darkened white ground to spine; rubbing and chipping to all edges and corners commensurate with age and use, but no major loss, some darkening to spine but overall good for its age (now protected). Cover: red and white paper covered boards, to match Dust Jacket; very bright and clean for its age; slightest rubbing to all edges and corners commensurate with age and use, some darkening to spine but overall very good for its age. Internally: very clean and tightly bound; no markings or book plates; some slight darkening to page edges; otherwise in very good condition. Illustrated throughout in black and white. 86 pp. Seller Inventory # 003787
