Biblioteca italiana" is an "extremely rare" list of Italian rarities from the beginning of printing to about 1715. The text includes the titles on history, poetry, prose, arts and science. It was written and published by the Roman humanist Nicola Francesco HAYM (1678-1726), known as a numismatist and libretti writer for George Frideric Handel. Book was published in London because the author moved there from Rome in 1701. Text in Italian. In 8vo. [18 ll.]+302pp.+[24ll]. 19x12cm. Decorated with barocco vignettes. Marbled edges. Brown calf binding. Five raised bands. Golden embossing on the spine. Hinges slightly cracked. And has scratches on the covers. Creasing free end paper. Near fine condition.
