octavo thick ca. 6" x 9" half bound in original or early dark brown morocco with marbled paper covered boards, moderate wear and light soiling to binding, rear hinge becoming weak, pages age toned a bit, but generally, very good, pencil name of Francis G. Du Pont and date 1884 on front endpaper and same bookplate on front pastedown, pencil note appears to say the book is being sent to an Aunt, contents pp. [6], 531 the first text page hasa light stains Overall, very good copy and a scarce item. Howes D589. Du Pont's dispatches from the Mexican American War and a large number from the Civil War. Text in English.
