Vol II rebound in maroon red cloth (does not match vol I) with all of original cover (which had been bound in wraps) professionally applied to the new cover. 681pp. Illust. Index. Vol. I in moderately worn covers, but in good used condition. Several ink stamps inside of E. G. Phelps, who owned several territorial newspapers. Brief bio sketch (17 short lines) of Phelps written by his son on the rear paste down. Vol II with new endpapers. The first few prelim blank pages are badly stained & have tears & peeling where pages were stuck to next page. The title pages was also once stuck to the frontispiece, & there is image loss & print loss to the title. All of text is in fine reading condition with the rebind, but the prelims, frontispiece., & title page are ugly. Nevertheless, a scarce, if mismatched set loaded with loads of useful information.
