First edition (as stated upon copyright page) with publisher's review slip laid-in. x, 374 pages. Hardcover; H 21.5cm x L 14.25cm. Dust jacket lightly rubbed, mild bumping at spine head. Beige cloth. Ownership inscription of Mississippi Democrat US Representative Thomas G. Abernethy (1903-1998, served from 1943-1972) on front pastedown but unfortunately now obscured under several swaths of black marker. Interior pages are otherwise bright and clean. A very good+ copy in a very good+ dust jacket.
