First printing (as stated upon copyright page). xii, 166 pages. Hardcover: H 26cm x L 18.25cm. Dust jacket foxed, rubbed, and stained; light horizontal rippling to rear panel; spine panel's lettering faded; small chip at front panel's top left; short tears and nicks at edges. Gray cloth with light toning. Light foxing to text block's top edge. Light toning/foxing to initial and rear leaves; interior text leaves remain clean. Binding is firm. Peter Alexander Brannon (1882-1967) served on the staff of the Alabama Department of Archives and History for fifty years before succeeding Marie Bankhead Owen as director in 1955. {Shelf#2|CMS-00348}.
