Folding frontispiece plan of an Oswego longhouse and map on one sheet with several closed tears and laid down on paper. Embossed historical society stamps on frontispiece. title page, and on pp. 49/50. Evidence of bookplate removal from front pastedown. Intermittent foxing. Still an attractive copy of Bartram's account of his diplomatic mission to the Iroquois. The final 16 pages are devoted to a letter from another important naturalist, Peter Kalm of Sweden, which includes the first English-language scientific description of Niagara Falls.
