Original full tree or flame calf, morocco label on spine, a fade line on cover due to being benath another book? 5 gilt panels with motifs and date at base of spine on another thin morocco label. Printed on quality rag paper, all very good. 9 FOLD-OUT charts divided into 9 sections an a long appendix. With an ink inscription on endpapers front and rear, "R. Mowbray 96th Reg Hungerford, Berks". , the one at the front dated June 17th 1808, a neat Latin quote at top of the paste down endpaper also and the troops that were to be attended at the funeral of a Field Marshal. 6 Regt's of Infantry, 8 Squadron of Cavalry and 17 guns. A cut from the War Office of 1866, listing officers posts. Octavo. 22 x 12.5 cm. *The sections are; Pay for Officers, men and boys 1798-1806 + Annual Regiment allowance + System of Accounts for Regiments + Regulations for Certain Departments + Pay and Allowances for General Staff Officers + Medical and Veterinary Branches + Regt Field Allowances + Clothing and Appointments + Miscellaneous Orders + Appendix(120 pages). *Many of the regs here are by W. Windham from about the 1770's and 80's, others are updated and additions to those army regs to 1806. Richard Fitzpatrick was Secretary at war in 1806-7 . Rare in original formal.
