The Old Maid ( Parts One and Two) is part three of the series and it has been said that it has the most richly developed characters and storyline. The book was adapted for stage winning the 1935 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a film version was produced in 1939 starring Bette Davis as Charlotte. The front and back papers have been illustrated by Edward C Caswell. This is a USA First Edition, First Impression in very good condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards are bright. The spine is slightly darkened and has shelf wear to to the top and bottom edges. The end papers and pages are clean without marks, tears or inscriptions.
