Original DJ with $2.50 price intact on flap. Book is fine, inside and out. Binding and hinges are strong and sound. DJ shows rubbing along edges, minor shallow chipping crown, heel and corner-folds. Faint pink discoloration on rear of DJ. Winner of the 1961 Newbery Honor award, Old Ramon is a touching young-adult story of a boy, two dogs, and an elderly Hispanic shepherd in the Mojave Desert. Interestingly, the line drawings in the book are illustrated by Harold E. West, father of Archie West, the inspiration for Schaefer's 1963 book, and title character, Monte Walsh. Old Ramon is a celebrated first edition, first printing, by the author of Shane, considered the greatest Western ever written. Fine/VG. Seller Inventory # 003572
