About this Item
A curious World War I of a particular interest for its connection to the Chicago literary and art scene of the World War I era. A collection of photos of scenes related to World War I in Europe along with lyrics and music to national songs of six nations -- Germany, England, Frances, Russia, Austria and the United States (Hail, Columbia). Of particular interest is the front cover illustration by Chicago artist Oskar Gross, a somewhat novel image that is blue and white with a series light beams shooting skyward from Europe into a sky populated by sketches of then-contemporary air craft. 32 pages with stapled covers, illustrated. Light general wear. Seller Inventory # 008373
