Item description from seller

Light cover creases and edge wear, paper edge toned with slight foxing. ; First printing of paperback original with no other printings listed, 1976. Nice tight copy, no names inside. Wrap around cover artwork uncredited. ; J T Edson Series; Vol. 79; 160 pages; Captain Jackson Baines Hardin had been given the task of delivering five hundred caplock rifles, on which depended the success of the Texans' struggle to liberate themselves from the tyrannical rule of the Mexican dictator, Presidente Santa Anna. By the end of the journey he'd learnt a lot about mule trains. But at last he'd found himself trapped on the banks of the Brazos River, with no way of getting the rifles across. Just as well for him that, as men claimed, he was a 'lil ole devil' for a fight. Mass Market PB.
