First US edition. Illustrated throughout. A novella set after His Dark Materials and before the second book of The Book of Dust series in which Lyra visits Trollesund, the Arctic town featured in Northern Lights and the place of her first meeting with Lee Scoresby. Not originally intended for publication the manuscript was sold at a charity auction in 2004. Illustrated by Tom Duxbury, an English illustrator. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Serpentine is in the original unclipped dust wrapper, which is also in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Fine.
