Octavo. [1], 237 pages, [2]. Brown cloth hardcover with blind decorative stamped covers and gilt title on the spine. Small cloth repair to the head of spine. Front and rear hinges repaired. Light shelf wear to the covers. Light toning to the contents. Previous owner inscription written on the right front flyleaf - "J. F. Ireland Sampson County 96 Ca Oct, 11. 1858.". Below this inscription is a much later gift inscription in blue pen - "From J. F. Ireland's Great Niece Elizabeth Farrington Crowe to R.? Patterson Reece Jan 3 - 1958." This is an argument against the Baptist's principal that "baptism is indispensably prerequisite to sacramental communion, and that immersion is essential to baptism.".
