Grey cloth, with some soiling to the cover. Lots of black and white plates (with tissue guards). Daubeny is remembered for his horror fiction (The Elemental, 1919), which often reflects his interest in musical instruments and antiques. One of his stories concerns a brass instrument called a serpent, which is seen in a photograph in this volume.
