On one of his trips, he discovered the slipper orchid.Curtis's aim for this work was to provide a well-rounded guide into cultivating orchids. He presents many different types of the plant, with beautiful illustrations to accompany the text. With thirty colour plates and many other black and white illustrations throughout. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original green cloth binding with a gilt motif of an orchid to the front board. Externally, smart, with light bumping and rubbing to the extremities. A touch of fading to the spine and the odd mark to cloth. Light spotting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Ink mark to plate opposite pp160. Very Good.
