Add to basketWhenever I find a book that has been published by the Charles E. Tuttle Company, Inc. of Tokyo, Japan and Rutland, Vermont, I know it is a serious book, well made and well prepared. I am pleased to offer you a copy of: Oriental Rugs, A Complete Guide, by Charles W. Jacobsen. This rather large hardcover book (7 ? x 10 ? inches, 479 pages) was published by Charles E. Tuttle, dated 1979 and the Seventeenth Printing of the First Edition of 1962 (so stated). The book is bound in very beautiful brick red cloth covers with elaborate, gilt decorations on the cover and gilt titles on the spine. It is protected by glossy, pictorial dust jacket. I will include a photo of the Table of Contents for your further information. The book is extremely well illustrated with 194 pictures of different types of rugs, complete with descriptive captions for each. Thirty-nine of the plates are in full color. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket shows some very minor edge wear, particularly along the top edge but which do not amount to either tear or chip. It is price-clipped. The hard covers are pristine and still very attractive, with bright red and gilt. Inside, there is a former owner s small, inked name on the front endpaper but this is the only mark I found; the interior pages and plates are clean and bright. There are some tiny brown specks on the page edges which I am going to assume are cigarette smoke stains but barely noticeable.
