The binding has deteriorated (see, for example, between pp. 170-71, photo). There has been minor tanning around the margin of the pages of the text. The boards and cloth of the cover show little wear. There is a one inch/2.5 cm tear at the left top of the jacket front (see photo), and another tear half that size at the bottom left of the back of the jacket.
