First Edition. Paperbound, 8 1/2Ó x 11Ó when folded. A special illustrated film program made by the studio for advance screenings of the film, Ragtime for reviewers and members of the motion picture industry. The screenplay for the film was written by Michael Weller, from the novel by E.L. Doctorow, directed by Milos Forman, starring James Cagney, Elizabeth McGovern, Howard E. Rollins, Jr., Brad Dourif, Pat OÕBrien, Donald OÕConnor, Mandy Patinkin, and Mary Steenburgen. The film was nominated for eight Oscars; Best Supporting Actor (Rollins), Best Supporting Actress (McGovern), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction - Set Direction, Best Costume Design, Best Original Song (Randy Newman for ÔOne More HourÕ), and Best Original Score (Randy Newman). The film was nominated for seven Golden Globes; Best Motion Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress (Steenburgen), Best Supporting Actor (Rollins), New Star of the Year (McGovern and Rollins), and Best Original Song.
