Born at Derby Castle in Douglas, The Isle of Man, Pollock studied at Trinity College, Dublin. In 1858, he was ordained by the Bishop of Chester, and, in 1861, he became Curate of St. Paul's, Birmingham.

Original mauve cloth, gilt lettering to spine, wear to the head and tail of spine, corners rubbed, ?Dean Savage? library stamp to front endpaper, ?H. E. Savage? in ink to the flyleaf, otherwise clean internally. Overall, a very good copy.
