Vignette drawings and illustrations include Wille Dunn's shop at Shinnecock, plan of the Newport clubhouse, old clubhouse of the Chicago Golf Club, the Essex County Club (home of the Curtis sisters), Shinnecock Golf Club, Tuxedo Golf Club, St. Andrew's Golf Club, drawings by A. B. Frost, etc. etc. Also of golf interest is the final chapter by Edward S. Martin on "Country Clubs and Hunt Clubs in America." Good coverage on Myopia Hunt Club, Rockaway Hunt Club, Montreal Hunt Club, et al. Additionally includes chapters on lawn tennis by Robert D Wrenn the 1896 US Tennis Champion, surf and surf-bathing (chapter author Duffield Osborne is surfing without a board!), athletics, and bicycling.
