Stapled paperback, VG. 32pp, edges of the wrappers a little yellowed. An early printing of Heaney's poem 'The Salmon Fisher To The Salmon' which he wrote in the autum of 1965. It would appear in his second anthology, 'Door into the Dark' which was published in 1969. Of the poem, which was the first he wrote for the collection, Heaney said 'I always had mixed feelings about it. It started where I always like to start, in the ground of memory & sensation, but I had a hunchthat during the actual writing the impulse had got tied up rather than set free'.
