Add to basketOVER THERE WITH THE AUSTRALIANS BY CAPTAIN R. HUGH KNYVETT 1918 FIRST PRINTING. Here for your consideration is a story of a young American who served with the Australian troops during World War I. He was an ANZAC Scout and Intelligence Officer serving with the Fifteenth Australian Infantry. Please find: Over There with the Australians, by Captain R. Hugh Knyvett. This small hard cover book (5 x 7 ½ inches, 339 pages) was published by Charles Scribner s Sons of New York, dated 1918 and the First Printing of the First Edition according to my reading of the copyright page. This book is bound in tan cloth with black titles and red decorations. The Frontispiece is a nice tissue-guarded portrait of the Author and there are seven other b&w photographs from the War as illustrations (all present and accounted for; I checked). Condition: This vintage book is in very good condition. The hard covers are bumped at the corners and spine tips but nothing severe. There are some small brown spots on the spine and rear boards and overall, I would say that the covers are dust-dulled. Inside, a former owner has left her name and date on the front endpaper but this is the only mark I found in the pages of this book which are not toned or foxed. Both hinges are cracked but the binding still feels reasonably tight. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
