Own Your Story: The Invitation (Volume 1)

Have you ever considered the language of an invitation you receive to a wedding or formal event? Traditionally those invitations will request the honor of your presence and often, if you think hard about it, your presence would be the best present you could give. How do you typically show up to events in your own life? Do you consider the possibility that each day is a brand new present, wrapped up especially for you by the greatest, grandest you you could possibly become? Would that change the story you tell about yourself and your life? Because every day you are telling that story, not only in the language you use, but also in the way you present yourself and the energy you bring with you. Whether you’re aware of that or not, you tend to live into that story. When you discover that every decision you’ve made has brought you to the exact place you need to be, you start looking at your life differently. Instead of being a victim of your past, you begin to see that all signs are leading to the greatest and grandest version of you: it all depends upon the story you tell. Is it your history/herstory – what really happened – or is it what you say about what happened? We see our lives through our own eyes, and that perspective shapes our perception. The ideas in this book will allow you to take a look at the events of your life and make some decisions about the future you choose to live into. You will find that there are random pages throughout the book that are set up for you to share your own story, thought, idea, or information in order to customize this book for yourself or as a gift to someone else. Wouldn’t it be great to receive a book from someone else with the giver’s own thoughts interspersed? It’s a great way to share a little piece of yourself with someone who means a lot to you. Another fun way to utilize the book is to think for a moment about a challenge you are facing or an inspiration you are wanting to discover. Open the book and randomly choose one of the entries. More often than not you will find something that will support you or challenge you (in a good way!) right where you are. I am hopeful that you will choose to accept the invitation this book offers to take a look at the happenings of your life as an observer. The story is yours, and everything you’ve experienced has brought you to exactly where you find yourself right now – which is exactly where you are supposed to be. The honor of your presence is requested – by you, to you!

A connector by nature, Jodee Bock is always looking for patterns to help assimilate and associate things, ideas, and people. She learned to read at age three, so has a wealth of knowledge stuffed into her brain, and is continually seeking ways to put that knowledge into action. While she has learned active listening skills as a life purpose and career coach, Jodee continues to perfect the skill of using that listening to connect with her own Higher Self through a daily attempt at what could loosely be called “meditation” and is learning to trust her gut.
