Limited to 225 copies. Tribute volume dedication to the noted Chicago lawyer and bibliophile. Ruxin (1943-2016) was a scholar of 18th century English literature and leading collector of material by and about Samuel Johnson and his biographer, James Boswell. Includes a selection of Ruxin's essays and other writings, along with remembrances from friends and fellow bibliophiles. Compiled and edited by Gordon M. Pradl and Samuel B. Ellenport, with an introduction by William H. Pritchard. Full color portrait and textual illustrations. Tall octavo. Original blue cloth binding, with gilt titles. Some mild bumping to the extremities; otherwise very good.

Established in 1981, johnson rare books & archives is located at The Book Shop in downtown Covina, about 20 miles east of Los Angeles. The shop is open six days a week and houses an inventory of some 30,000 titles, ranging from the general second-hand to the truly antiquarian.
