Reviews
Grade 3-5?As many children have already discovered, peanut butter is a many-splendored food. This colorful, cartoon-filled book presents 50 recipes and related tidbits of trivia. The recipes sometimes resemble one another?how many variations of peanut butter cookies and sweets can there be? But there are also directions for making chicken stir-fry sauce, breads, milkshakes, salad dressing, dip, and pizza topping for cooks with adventurous tastes. Healthy eating is stressed: one can find the food pyramid in the introduction, showing peanut butter in the "Meats, Eggs, Alternate Group?2 to 3 servings a day." A lively and informative selection, both for devoted fans and for browsers who prefer to eat their peanut butter by the spoonful.?Carolyn Jenks, First Parish Unitarian Church, Portland, ME
