207 pages of text including an index. Original cloth boards are slightly worn and rubbed, with minor bumping to the corners; rebacked in cloth with modern spine lettering in gilt. New endpapers. Complete; illustrated with a frontispiece, and 74 engraved plates, one of which is fold-out and all of which are hand-colored. The edge of the rear cover, as well as the margin of the final 20 pages have a small chip. The text is clean and unmarked. Measures 11 7/16" x 8 7/8" (290mm x225mm). First edition.
