Art deco brown cloth boards with black cloth overlay on the spine with dulled gilt lettering on the spine. Clean internals. Inner hinges are sound and not split. 165 pp 4to. This year (1936) marks the fiftieth anniversary of the commercial introduction of the Mergenthaler Linotype, an invention that meant more and that still means more to printers and publishers than any other invention since the introduction of movable types more than 400 years ago. This book tells not only about the machine and what it has accomplished, but tells even more about the policies, methods, standards, and ideals of Linotype leaders. A clean very presentable copy.
