First edition. 304+(6) pages, well illustrated with eight full page color plates each with tissue guard (including the frontis), 24 full page black and white plates, plus another 62 illustrations in the text. Color paste-on photo on the front board, top edge gilt. Very good condition, the binding bright and unworn, rear inner weakening, occasional foxing internally including to the plates.
