Stated first American edition. 352 pages. Full leather binding, blind-stamped around the edges, red leather label on spine with gilt lettering. Good condition: the front joint is holding well, the rear joint shows some separation although the board is holding firmly; there is some rubbing along the outer edge of the rear board, the first free end paper is loosening from the binding at the top, and there is an old stain around to top outer corner of the title page extending to the next twenty leaves or so. Scarce.
