About this title

Synopsis

The Precious Moments Story is the first and only comprehensive collector's guide devoted to artist Sam Butcher and the entire porcelain Precious Moments Collection made by Enesco Imports Corp. Rare family album photos never before published highlight the heartwarming biography of Sam's life. His "rags to riches" tale is fascinating, filled with loving anecdotes, dedication to the Lord and a true sense of humor.

Precious Moments collectors will thrill to the fabulous color photographs on the Gallery section, which includes every porcelain treasure ever released, including some that have never been seen before. An accompanying index makes it easy for collectors to cross-reference their own pieces. Sam's intimate accounts of the background of many of the figurines add excitement to the book, giving invaluable insight into the collection. There is a special chapter detailing how each figurine is crafted, accompanied by descriptive step-by-step color photographs. Extensive coverage of Sam's activities in the Philippines showcases yet another facet of this kind and gentle man's personality. Throughout the text, his inspirational words add a personal touch to this very special book.
