Special edition printed in February 1911 for confidential circulation among members of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. First edition, first printing. Dark green board with gilt title. The front endpaper has the name of the original owner and subsequent owner. Pages & cover are clean, bookplate in back, otherwise excellent condition. This is a management classic that is actually a short booklet. It is Taylor's key statement of his approach to developing standards for work performance on the basis of study and observation as opposed to a reliance on standard "rules of thumb.".
