Store description

I have been an antiquarian book, autograph, mss, book related art and poster dealer for some 50 years. I am a graduate of Northwestern University. I was an associate of Hamill & Barker in Chicago, then manager/buyer for Marshall Field's fine Rare Book, map, print, poster, book related art, autograph and mss dept. for seven years. Sole prop. of Richard Cady Rare Books first in NY, then Chicago, and for the last 25 years in Prescott, Arizona. My bibliography and reference library consists of some 1500 volumes. My stock is about the same size. Fine selection of books about books, fine turn-of-the-century publisher's trade bindings, English and American literature, Raj India, southwest Americana, the English and American 1890s period, and rare and interesting books in all fields. I am a stickler on condition. And having been an antiquarian bookseller for over 50 years now I am beginning to entertain booksellers' inquiries re: my reference library, stock, book related posters and prints, and a large number of five-stack, glass front, Globe Wernicke book cases.

Specialty

Rare and interesting books in all fields. Often very few or no other listings on ABE.
