A first edition in an unclipped dust wrapper of Nobel Prize winner William Golding's penultimate novel. Most renowned for his debut novel, 'The Lord of the Flies', Sir William Golding (1911-1993) was a British novelist, awarded the Nobel Prize in LIterature in 1983 and the Booker Prize in 1980; he was also knighted in 1988. 'The Paper Men' follows Wilfred Barclay, a middle-aged writer with a drinking problem and a loveless marriage as he is hounded by a young professor keen to write his biography.This is a first edition, first impression. In a full cloth binding with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. Dust wrapper is in excellent condition, very minor bumping to the spine.
